Case Study 3
An aerospace company that owned five manufacturing sites across the country decided to close one old and inefficient facility, consolidating operations into the remaining four plants. The site to be closed had been in operation for over 50 years and was spread out over 500 acres of land. After relocating the machine tools that were needed for continuing operations, the site was turned over to Blue Star to get the most value possible for remaining assets - which included machine tools, vehicles, hoists, pallet racking and scrap metals.
Blue Star spent several months on-site, inventorying and selling all of these remaining assets - sometime literally digging valuable non-ferrous metals out of the ground. We were even able to sell generators, boilers and fuel oil for our client.
The result was that hundreds of thousands of dollars were returned to our client for assets that they were ready to abandon on the site.
